For this weeks Tech Task I used the Google Search Bar as a Timer. I never knew you could do this and it's probably the easiest and quickest Tech Task I have done so far!
So as I mentioned in my last post I wiped my Unity and had to do this Tutorial again! I actually really enjoyed doing this tutorial because I felt the game developed so much more by what was being added. The first part of the tutorial was about adding a Health Stat to your Character GameObject which started at 5 and decreased when you came in contact with Damageable Objects and Enemies. I then had to add a Health Collectible and add a script to it, by adding the script to it and inserting some code when my health did decrease I could pick up the Health Collectible to make it increase. Image Information: Screenshot from my Unity As I said above the health stat decreased when my character comes in contact with Damageable Objects and Enemies. In the second part of this week's tutorials you began to add these elements into your game. The first thing I added was the Damageable Object which were black and yellow spikes, I then added some script to it to let the game know tha...
I killed two birds with one stone for this weeks task! One of my twitter tasks was to also include a list so it worked out well for me when doing this extra credit task. I made a list of the members in my group so that I can easily see what each one of them has tweeted so far and it also updates so will continue refreshing as they tweet. I have never used Twitter Lists before this but they seem very useful. I'm currently non stop refreshing my Twitter looking at Election news so it could be handy for me to make a list with all different News/Reporters so I can see updated news. Here is a link to the list I created. Image Information - Screenshot of my own list
Week 8 and finally the time has come for the last Unity Tutorial!! I have to say I definitely preferred the tutorials this semester than I did last semester. I felt it was much easier to keep on top of them and they didn't take nearly half as long and they did when I had to watch the video tutorials in semester 1. There were two parts to this weeks tutorial. The first one was titled "Audio" and the second one was titled "Build, Run and Distribute". First up was audio. In this part of the tutorial I learned how to add audio sources to different game objects i.e when I pick up my HealthCollectible object it makes a sound. I done something similar to this last semester when making my game and I think it's a great addition to a game. Image Information - My RubyController Script The second and final part of the Ruby Tutorial "Build, Run and Distribute" showed me how to save and finalise my game so I could save it and share it. It shows how to save th...
